Kaplan: Significant Facebook Use by Admissions Officers and Prospective Students
Sound the alarm! Waves are being made over a new report from Kaplan Test Prep, which seems to indicate—at first glance—that college recruiters are using Facebook profiles as criteria in the admissions process.
According to Kaplan, 82 percent of the 386 admissions officers surveyed indicated that their respective schools used Facebook, “to recruit prospective students.” And Facebook is clearly the most targeted social platforms in that regard: only 56 percent of those surveyed indicated that their schools used Twitter or YouTube in a similar fashion.
SAT down, Facebook up.
